Postdoctoral Research Associate
About the Opportunity
Northeastern University's Roux Institute has established a Postdoctoral Research Associate position dealing with cutting-edge research in the theoretical and applied aspects of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). The successful candidate will join Prof. Francesco Restuccia's research team in Portland, Maine.
Responsibilities:
Performs basic or applied research in an area of considerable scope and complexity. Plans independent research and analyzes and publishes the results. Prepares grant proposals. Provides functional and administrative supervision over supporting research staff and transfers technical and statistical expertise. Responsible for purchasing and budget administration. Attends meetings and may present research. Some use cases are export controlled and potential to work on classified projects after completion of training and certification.
Qualifications:
Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science (CS), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) or related discipline; must have progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and execute research; Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills are essential, as are time-management and organizational skills. Good written and verbal communication skills and organizational talents are expected. Proposal preparations for sponsored research funding, research experience involving experiments, and project management experience are pluses.
Priority will be given to candidates with proven experience in the theory and application of AI/ML techniques (CNNs, RNNs, DRL, etc) to computer vision and/or other fields relevant to the Internet of Things (IoT). Of particular interest are candidates with experience with cutting-edge IoT wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, LTE, NR, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LPWANs, and others.
Candidates should send a letter of application addressing the selection criteria and indicating how their background and expertise fit with the specific needs of the position, a curriculum vitae, one print of prior scientific publications, and the names and contact information of 3-5 references through the website.
