The Department of Music seeks a part-time faculty member to teach applied trombone, euphonium, and/or tuba lessons beginning in Spring 2024. There may be additional opportunities to perform as trombonist in the Faculty Brass Quintet as well as teach courses in Music Appreciation, Global Music, Jazz Appreciation, Rhythm and Rock, and Intro to Hip- Hop depending on the department’s needs and the candidate’s expertise. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: The successful candidate must hold a master’s degree in Music and demonstrate significant professional experience.
Desired Qualifications: MM or DMA in Trombone, Tuba, or Euphonium Performance or equivalent professional experience. Prior university experience teaching. Experience using the Canvas learning management system (or similar). Preference will be given to applicants that can teach and perform in all three areas. Jazz experience is a plus but not a requirement. Prior experience teaching in higher ed.
