The Warrior community is seeking a Human Resource Professional to work on our Fort Wayne campus with work-from-home capability of 1-2 days per week depending on department needs. Our Tech HR team includes an HR Director, two HR Specialists, one part-time Benefits Specialist, and student assistants. This is an exempt, full-time position. The department serves approximately 300 full-time employees, 65 part-time staff, 200 student employees, and 300 part-time adjunct instructors. Employees are located in various locations operating out of Indiana, Kentucky, and remotely across the United States.

 

Responsibilities may vary based on the skills of the selected professional but are certain to include new employee recruitment and onboarding, HRIS system data integrity and reporting, adjunct employment processing, adjunct employee labor relations, processing verifications of employment, external position advertising, handling ADA needs, overseeing driver safety coordination with the Risk Management Team, overseeing volunteer and contractor processes, and processing purchase orders. This is not an exhaustive list; the HR team is cross-trained with a common goal to impact students and how to best serve Warriors positively.

 

We are seeking an HR professional with five or more years of traditional HR department experience. A bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field is preferred. Candidates without a degree but with significant HR experience will be considered. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be committed to teamwork. The following abilities must be present: ability to multi-task and show attention to detail, prioritize tasks effectively, work independently and as a team, always maintain absolute confidentiality, handle pressure, and navigate emotional situations.

 

Candidates must have experience working with an HRIS system and ideally have a minimum of not-for-profit experience; higher education experience is preferred. The preferred candidate will have expert knowledge and ability with Microsoft Office products and be comfortable working in a database. The preferred candidate will also be skilled at listening, assisting others, handling conflict, adapting to change, and handling a fast-paced workflow.
