The Austin College Department of Economics and Business Administration invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Business Administration. Ph.D. in economics or business preferred and should be completed before the position begins in August 2024. Applicants with DBAs in Finance or MBAs with relevant coursework in Finance are also encouraged to apply. A minimum of 18 semester hours of graduate-level finance-related courses is required. Graduate degree required.

We seek an experienced, dynamic, and student-oriented academic professional with evidence of teaching excellence, a commitment to undergraduate business education, and the ability to teach courses in finance. Our faculty members teach three (3) courses per regular semester and a January-term course once every two years, and participate in college-wide interdisciplinary programs (e.g., data analytics, environmental studies, gender studies, health-care administration, or social justice and community engagement) and service. They are responsible for delivering student-centered, hands-on, active instruction to prepare our students for success.

The Department of Economics and Business Administration of Austin College offers instruction of economics, business, finance, data analytics, and accounting within the liberal arts framework. The Department utilizes experiential practices with meaningful faculty and student engagement and interaction such as product lab, student investment fund (valued at more than $1M), and student participation in research conferences to cultivate the academic excellence of our students; a successful candidate would also contribute to such student-focused programs.
