Additional Schedule Details: The VP area of Student Success, Engagement, and Opportunity allows remote work one-two days per week as appropriate and includes regular review for eligibility.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Associate Director is responsible for assessing all existing controls and practices; identifying areas where improvement is needed in relation to Federal Title IV and state aid regulations and standards; and ensuring that all campuses in a sizeable multi-campus structure maintain an acceptable level of uniformity, consistency, and quality in addition to adhering to all applicable regulatory requirements regarding financial aid.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
Master's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience: 3 years of experience in higher education with emphasis in areas of: financial aid, admissions, academic advising, or related fields. Proven leadership in supervising employees and in developing and implementing institutional policies. Knowledge and experience with financial software systems. Ability to analyze and direct budget preparation.

Job Duties:
  • 40% - Lead, mentor, and manage the team. Monitor Title IV regulatory changes, internal controls monitoring, and inform the executive leadership team of needed changes. Collaborate with the US Department of Education and monitor state aid compliance and controls. - (Essential)
  • 35% - Develop policies manual and coordinate all updates, conduct training on financial aid changes, ensure website content compliance, and Perform quality assurance testing on financial aid files. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Oversee daily operations, ensure systems align with regulations, Coordinate and engage in financial aid audits, and Stay current with financial aid associations. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
