Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University invites applications for the role of Director of IT Services in Daytona Beach, Florida. As a seasoned leader, you will be at the helm, shaping the technological landscape of our Daytona Beach Campus.

Position Overview: Director of IT Services

In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership, planning, and efficient management of IT Services. This encompasses a wide spectrum, from desktop support, audio-visual assistance, events management, to instructional technology and IT Services projects. Central to your responsibility is elevating operational excellence, enhancing quality, efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Daytona Beach Campus leadership and University Administration to craft and execute technology initiatives. You will be the forefront liaison, engaging with constituents to identify technology solutions aligned with campus needs.
  • Spearhead the alignment of Information Technology strategy with Daytona Beach Campus strategy, in sync with administrative, academic, and research goals.
  • Serve as a conduit between Embry-Riddle’s vibrant community of IT professionals and supports the broader mission of the University as a global leader in aviation and aerospace education.
  • Thrive in a diverse technology landscape, spanning across various platforms, and contribute to their further development.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience working in a technical environment and at least 5 years of proven leadership experience managing a high-volume IT support operations team
  • General knowledge of information technology trends and practices including networking and desktop computing standards
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall with the ability to lead projects from requirements definition through implementation
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL best practices for service and incident management
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success
  • Proven ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Strategic vision coupled with excellent planning and execution skills
  • Adept at building partnerships, both internally and externally
  • Passion for technology's role in advancing aviation and aerospace education
Preferred Qualification:
  • ITIL Certification
  • Experience with enterprise desktop management tools (MECM, Addigy, etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise audio visual technology (Crestron, etc.)
