Job Description
This is a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Music Division. The faculty member’s workload responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:
· teach undergraduate and graduate applied trumpet;
· teach coursework in areas of interest and specialty as needed, including literature, pedagogy, and chamber music;
· recruit and retain high caliber undergraduate and graduate students;
· maintain an active professional presence as a performer, teacher, and scholar in the candidate’s area of expertise; serve on division, unit, and campus-level committees as needed; serve on graduate student committees;
· participate and engage in Conservatory activities including recruiting events, audition days, and student/faculty performances;
· collaborate within and outside of the Conservatory; contribute to the cultural landscape of Kansas City by establishing and maintaining connections to the metropolitan community.
The applicant's CV and cover letter should demonstrate a multi-faceted approach to pedagogy and creative activities that impacts a global constituency.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have demonstrated successful and innovative experience teaching trumpet, preferably in a university setting, in addition to:
· significant professional experience at the national and/or international level as a performer/scholar;
· demonstrated ability to attract quality undergraduate and graduate trumpet students;
· doctoral degree in trumpet performance, or equivalent professional experience.
Full Time/Part Time
This is a 9-month, full-time, ranked, benefit-eligible faculty appointment on the tenure track.

Salary
$55,000-$65,000 based on candidate’s credentials, background and experience
