About this Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting high school students as they prepare for college? We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and team-oriented High School and Statewide Initiatives Specialist who can provide vision and direction in all aspects of the high school enrollment program. The person in this position works closely with and builds relationships with school counselors and teachers at partner high schools to develop a strong Dual Credit program. The High School and Statewide Initiatives Specialist is a full-time position focused on championing high school students and managing the growth, development, and promotion of the Dual Credit program.

The salary range for this opportunity is $39,000 – $42,800 annually.

Position Function

Contribute to the success of the Dual Credit Program through the following functions:
-Identify, grow and maintain relationships with delivery sites (high schools) via outreach to promote the dual credit program to high schools throughout the state of Indiana
-Recruitment efforts with high school students as well as their parents
-Manage the dual program application process, advocate for exceptions regarding admissibility
-Develop and deliver learner orientation to students and parents
-In an advisory capacity, provide guidance to students with regard to issues and scenarios that will impact their registration into the dual credit program
-Evaluate and analyze various processes and procedures involved with the dual credit program and make recommendations regarding improvements to enhance the success of the dual credit program along with retention strategies.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum Experience

At least one year of experience in teaching, counseling, advising, online/distance program support/administration, or other relevant area.

Minimum Other

Excellent oral and written communication skills; high degree of commitment to customer service; strong focus on detail and task completion; highly organized with good analytical skills; competency in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, database, email, and internet applications; possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the university’s auto fleet policy; ability to travel to area high schools.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Preferred Experience

Additional years of administrative and customer service experience. Proficient use of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool and/or an SIS (Student Information System), preferably Banner; At least one year of proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite tools, including a minimum of Word and Excel software.

Preferred Other

Direct experience assisting college-level students; additional years of related experience. Project-based work group and/or management experience.

Job Duty

Identify, grow and maintain delivery sites via outreach to statewide high schools; develop and deliver presentations on-site to prospective delivery sites’ personnel. Gather and analyze information regarding potential delivery sites and provide recommendations to director.

Lead the facilitation efforts of the high school dual credit program and other statewide initiatives, and collaborate with dual-credit instructors, high school counselors, high school students and their parents, and Ball State academic department personnel to ensure the success of the program.

Contribute to the achievement of recruitment and retention goals by attracting high school students and their parents via recruiting efforts for the dual credit program; develop and deliver presentations about the program to high school students and their parents in order to recruit students; serve as an ambassador of BSU, representing the institution at public-facing programs and engagement activities for the high school population; encourage prospective dual-credit students to consider attending Ball State upon graduation from high school.

Assess marketing and communication needs for the program, and through collaboration with the Division’s internal marketing and communication team and undergraduate admissions and recruitment staff, develop strategies and marketing and recruitment for statewide delivery.
