Job Details
Grove City College announces a full-time faculty opening in the Department of Biology beginning in July 2024. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in Forest Ecology, Landscape Ecology, Wetland Ecology, or a related field. Responsibilities include teaching introductory to advanced undergraduate biology courses in a challenging curriculum and developing innovative pedagogy. Ability and interest in teaching courses in one or more of the following areas will be considered a plus: general biology (focus on molecular and cellular biology), biostatistics, experimental design, writing in biology, dendrology, or wetland ecology and management.
Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to student-faculty research and are motivated to mentor undergraduate students in research projects.
Grove City College’s Biology program houses five major programs of study, including Biology, Biology leading to Secondary Education Certification, Biology-Health, Molecular Biology, and Conservation Biology. The Biology department includes eight full-time faculty as well as over 200 students.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong potential for excellence in classroom teaching and a commitment to educating highly motivated students within the context of Grove City College’s historic Christian perspective. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
