Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
VCU School of Nursing is seeking a Clinical Placement Specialist to assist the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in meeting clinical placement needs of the Academic Programs.

The Clinical Placement Specialist serves as a liaison between School of Nursing faculty, clinical agencies, students, and preceptors to facilitate clinical learning. Works closely with program director/s. Responsible for obtaining, coordinating student placements for undergraduate and/or graduate clinical experiences. However, this position focuses mainly on undergraduate clinical placements. Coordination includes contacting agencies/preceptors, matching student clinical placement with agency/preceptors, sending confirmation letters to agencies/preceptors, managing the clinical placement databases, notifying students of their placements and other related duties as relevant, occasional collaborative meetings at the School of Nursing. Facilitates students’ clinical onboarding paperwork. Position requires occasional travel within the State to various clinical sites. Facilitates strong relationship between the School of Nursing, preceptors, and clinical agencies. Prepares and processes clinical affiliation agreements and prepares paperwork for Affiliate Faculty appointments. Minimum Hiring Standards
Must be detail-oriented and highly organized with excellent communication skills. Excellent customer service skills, ability to engage in effective problem solving, function independently and demonstrate initiative and work as an effective team member. Must have the ability to work in a diverse environment. Proficiency with technology and software such as Word and Excel is required. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU . Preferred Hiring Standards
Highly Preferred: Master’s degree with several years of experience; successful work history demonstrating either effective project management or management of multiple tasks. Proficiency with Google docs preferred; experience with REDCap and the Typhon system is a plus.
