Director of Orientation, Transition & Family Programs

 

 

 

Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the esteemed position of Director of Orientation, Transition & Family Programs. This role offers a unique chance to foster student success and family engagement in a dynamic university community. Belonging and engagement define our campus culture. Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, facilitation, and assessment of year-round parent/family programming/orientation; Support the development of and participate in all family programs facilitated by the department including Family Weekend; Guide, support, and assist with the planning, promotion, implementation, and assessment of all orientation programs (i.e. freshmen, transfer, special populations, parent/family, and online); Develop and create new orientation initiatives that respond to the needs of incoming students and their parent/family: Guide, support, and assist with the planning, promotion, implementation, and assessment of all transition programs (i.e. Teal Nation Welcome, Tau Sigma, Transition days/weeks, etc.); Develop and oversee creation and management of departmental communication; Develop on and off-campus collaborations and partnerships to enhance orientation, transition, and parent/family programs, services and initiatives; Manage all departmental budgets; and Provide oversight for student staff leadership development learning outcomes for all levels of student staff.

Requirements: A master’s degree, five (5) years of related experience and an in-depth understanding of student development are required. A master’s degree in College Student Personnel or related area preferred and direct experience with orientation and/or family programs is preferred.

Student Services Manager I (CB75/61121833/ FTE-S00903P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 06. Salary range:  $45,530.00 (minimum) to $64,885.00 (midpoint).  Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
