Position Overview
This is a part-time Esports League of Legends coaching position. This person will lead and coach the Rocket League roster and will include scheduling and managing practices, scheduling matches, team and player instruction and recruitment. The Coach will uphold the values of Butler University Esports and promote a holistic competitive experience for Butler students. This position will require 12-18 hours per week and will predominantly be evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- According to student availability, schedule and coordinate practices, scrimmages, replay reviews and matches for Butler Esports varsity Rocket League teams. Communicating with team members and managers.
- Provide instruction and coaching to Butler Esports varsity Rocket League teams and occasionally, the Butler Junior Varsity Esports team. Coaching and instruction includes team wide meetings and individual coaching for players.
- Assist the Manager of Esports and Coordinators in recruitment of prospective Butler students for the Rocket League team. Hold trials and tryouts for prospective students who qualify.
- Coordinate with leagues and conferences to ensure all eligibility requirements are met for student participation.
- High School Education or GED
- 1-2 years coaching and managing Rocket League teams
- Familiarity with collegiate level Rocket League teams
- Preferred qualifications include experience working with professional level Rocket League players and teams.
