Position Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Film, the Senior Projectionist is responsible for the implementation and coordination of all technical aspects of the Hop Film program. This is a part time, benefits eligible position that regularly collaborates with Facilities, Front of House Management, Production, Classroom Technology Services ( CTS ), Conferences and Events as well as external vendors.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp
High School plus 3+ years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- High School Diploma + three years’ relevant experience
- Ability to operate and maintain Digital Cinema content management systems, digital projectors, Assistive Listening and Closed Captioning systems
- Ability to operate and maintain alternative content (i.e., Satellite, DVR, PowerPoint, video conferencing)
- Ability to operate basic microphone/PA systems
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and networking
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision
- Supervisory experience: scheduling and training of student workers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work closely with students, faculty, the public and other Dartmouth College employees
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to work respectfully and effectively with all constituencies in a diverse community
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the operation of 35/16mm changeover projection systems
- Familiarity with Dolby TMS content management systems
- Familiarity with video/photo editing software (i.e., Adobe Premiere/Photoshop)
- In-depth knowledge and/or strong interest in the art of film
- Event management skills

Key Accountabilities
Description
Projection / AV Support
This role is responsible for the oversight and execution of film projection including events with Live or Virtual visiting guests. The Senior Projectionist will set up, test and screen content. This may include DCP ingest, playlist preparation, alternative content sources, audio playback, and house lighting systems. On some events which incorporate live discussion, the projectionist may also be responsible for operating AV systems used for live microphones and video conferencing. In collaboration with the Film Coordinator, the Senior Projectionist monitors the traffic and delivery of weekly content: films, KDMs, trailers, slides, PSAs, etc., and may assist in downloading and testing of digitally delivered content as well as work with House Management on accessibility options and protocols. The Senior Projectionist participates in the monitoring and health of the cinema equipment. They work closely with Production Staff with respect to proper functioning of satellite receivers and other playback equipment such as software and firmware being up to date as well as potential troubleshooting with CTS and Hop Production Staff on technical issues and maintenance/purchase of booth equipment.

Supervision and Training
The Senior Projectionist creates and maintains the schedules for student and part time projectionists. They will also train new operators and maintain training resources/references (print/video). They will communicate regularly with the film and production staff with feedback and any procedure adjustments.
