Position Description

Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.

Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions

• Adjunct teaching duties for the School of Health Professions Doctor of Physical Therapy program as defined by designated department.
• Licensed physical therapist with at least 5 years of clinical experience.
• Extensive experience in acute/inpatient physical therapy.
• Experience in physical therapy wound management.
• Availability to assist with on-campus labs for HPPT 8314 in the Spring semester with labs meeting on Thursdays from 1:00-5:00 at the TTUHSC in Amarillo.
• Familiarity with TTUHSC DPT program practical examinations.
• Strong communication skills.
