About the Department/College
Northern Arizona University - Yuma Branch Campus is conducting a national search to fill a non-tenure track, academic year faculty position in Business at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. This position is expected to be continuing with potential for promotion. Renewal is contingent on performance, continued funding and departmental needs.
NAU-Yuma is located on the grounds of Arizona Western College, the local community college. The branch campus serves a vital and growing local and regional community. NAU-Yuma has a primary role in providing a wide range of bachelor and graduate degrees in the Lower Colorado Region of Arizona and California. The Yuma Branch Campus has approximately 500 students on campus, while offering distance programs to an additional 1,500 students off campus. NAU-Yuma has been designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution.
The administrative and curricular structure for the Business Administration and Leadership program is housed at NAU-Yuma. This program is offered to a diverse student population. NAU-Yuma provides opportunities to work with faculty and students in established partnerships with Mexican universities in Sonora and Baja Norte, Mexico.
Residency in Yuma County, Arizona is required.
About the Position
When you join our team as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Business Administration and Leadership on the Yuma Branch Campus, you will bring your expert knowledge, education, and experience to add significant value and impact to the teaching and industry engagement related activities involved in this role. You will be teaching upper division courses in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Project Management to support the Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Global Business Administration programs and use your experience in in-person, hybrid, and online teaching modalities to provide leadership of best teaching practices. You will actively promote the Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Project Management programs through establishing and maintaining networks and partnerships with academic, industry, and professional communities in Arizona and the U.S. - Mexico border region. As a member of the department, you can expect to actively participate in continuing accreditation efforts and the development and implementation of learning outcomes assessment to create and implement innovative curricula.
Minimum Qualifications
- An earned Doctorate in Business Administration or closely related field from an accredited university by start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialization in Logistics and Supply Management or Project Management
- Three or more years of industry and professional experience or engagement directly related to Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Project Management
- Experience in establishing and maintaining networks and partnerships with academic, industry, and professional communities directly related to Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Project Management
- Experience in in-person, hybrid, and online teaching modalities
- Experience teaching Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Project Management
- Experience in maintaining program accreditation
- Experience with learning outcomes assessment
- Evidence of engaged scholarship
- Experience teaching or working in the U.S. - Mexico border region

This is a Faculty (FAC) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) or the Optional Retirement Program (ORP); sick leave accruals and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and qualified family members. More information on benefits at NAU is available at the NAU HR benefits page. Faculty are hired on a contract basis, renewable according to terms of the Conditions of Faculty Service. Employees offered a position will be eligible for state health plans (including NAU's BCBS Plan). Employees will have 31 days from date of hire to enroll in benefits, and their benefits will then be effective the first day of the pay period following their completed enrollment. If a new employee chooses the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) retirement option, participation in the ASRS Plan (and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it) will begin on the first of the pay period following 183 days of employment. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP; an alternative to the ASRS plan) will begin to participate on the first day of the pay period following election. Pre-Employment Check
This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.
