The Lacy School of Business at Butler University seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in Accounting. We are especially interested in applicants with a strong focus on Auditing. Also, being able to teach Information Systems and/or Managerial Accounting is a plus. The position start date is August 2024, and the standard teaching load is nine credit hours per semester with release time made available based on research productivity. A willingness and ability to teach online is also expected. Applicants must either have a Ph. D. or be far enough long that they will finish their Ph. D. by August 2023.

We seek candidates whose research, teaching, and/or service has prepared them to contribute to engagement with and inclusion of culturally diverse students, faculty, and staff. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and intercultural development in an educational and work environment and will be willing to contribute to building an inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population. Additionally, successful candidates will share our belief that individual faculty members can make a difference in the life of a student, with creativity and risk-taking are important facets of teaching and learning. Further, research must be balanced with, and complementary to, excellent teaching.

Preliminary interviews for this position will be conducted via Zoom and will continue until the position is filled.

The Accounting program at LSB is outstanding. The successful candidate will contribute to an undergraduate and the Master’s program whose graduates are in high demand by both Big Four and regional accounting firms as well as the industry. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or be near completion and must provide evidence that they will be excellent teachers, committed to working with a diverse population of students. They must also show that they will be productive researchers and display an interest in vigorous interaction with the business community.

Fully accredited by AACSB-International, the Lacy School of Business enrolls about 1,100 full-time undergraduate students and offers a Masters in Professional Accounting, an MBA, a Master of Management, and a Master of Science in Risk Management. The Business Building was recently opened in Fall 2019.
