About Distance Education :
Distance Education provides an entirely asynchronous, online learning experience that adapts to the unique circumstances of each student. Our fully accredited bachelor's and master's degree programs, as well as non-degree credits, empower learners to shape their own educational journey. With 8 five-week terms for undergraduates and 5 eight-week terms for graduate students, our model offers unparalleled flexibility. You can learn at your own pace, and take breaks as needed. The Opportunity:
Unity Environmental University is seeking enthusiastic individuals to teach Animal Health and Behavior courses for our online undergraduate degree programs. Courses are online and run for five weeks in eight different terms.

• We are particularly interested in hiring adjunct faculty to develop and teach foundational courses in Animal Health and Behavior. Examples of courses to be instructed would be Animal Training and Care, Animal Nutrition, Animal Comparative Anatomy and Physiology, and Designing Captive Animal Environments.
• Courses are taught asynchronously with an average of 20 students per course.

Qualifications

Do you have the skills?
The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (e.g. PhD, DVM) in the discipline or a master’s degree with ample experience in the profession in addition to the following:

• Experience with online teaching and previous use of Canvas is desirable.
• Prior experience with field work in Animal and Wildlife Health and Behavior, including the veterinary sciences as well as habitat construction and management.
• Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
• Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the university.

The Location:
Unity Environmental University ’s distance education curriculum is 100% online. Our Distance Education Adjuncts will teach remotely.
