Title: Temporary- Social Media Writer

Job Summary:

Through coverage and writing of events, stories and profiles, the social media writer will create content to increase interest and visits to the Vol State social media sites. The content will be assigned by the department and also created through story enterprise by the writer. The writer will use guidelines and criteria assigned by the department to create the content. The department will approve stories and posts before they appear. This project will be no more than 15 hours a week.

Job Duties:

Writing, reporting, and digital photography. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current student enrolled at Vol State.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong writing and reporting ability.
The applicant should feel comfortable using social media web sites.
Needs to be comfortable with digital photography and digital information management.
Excellent communication, follow up, and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Must possess the ability to work independently and to be a self-starter.

Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour
