Central State University ( CSU ) a public land grant institution located in Wilberforce, Ohio seeks a dynamic academic leader to serve as the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs. The Associate Provost for Academic Affairs a senior position in the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs’ leadership team. The Associate Provost reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The person will work in concert in all areas of Academic Affairs and is responsible for the formulation and implementation of academic and administrative policies and foals in the areas of online learning, curricular development, and student assessment. The selected individual must have a profound understanding and respect for academic values and culture.

The Associate Provost will supervise the Director of Assessment, Director of Institutional Research, the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Health and Legal Pre-Professional Program, and the Office of Academic Planning and Assessment.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Formulate policies and goals, supervise activities supporting online learning.
  • Coordinate regional accreditation through Higher Learning Commission ( HLC ) and serve as the HLC Accreditation Liaison Officer.
  • Develop and track performance indicators, establish goals, analyze performance data, and report progress in internal reports and reports to the HLC, Ohio Department of Higher Education ( ODHE ) and other agencies.
  • Coordinate development of academic programs and articulation agreements.
  • Coordinate college, department, and program-level accrediatation of various activities, policies, and budgets as assigned by the Provost.
  • Make regular reports to the University Senate and serve as ex-officio member on University Senate committees as specified by the University Senate and Faculty Handbook.
  • Facilitate communication and interaction with college deans, department chairs, faculty, and Academic Affairs staff.
  • Perform other commensurate duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  • Coordinate and plan programs across the Division of Academic Affairs.
  • Coordinate and manage academic preparation programs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of public policy related to higher education
  • Knowledge of planning processes in higher education
  • Knowledge of assessment of student learning and performance measurement
  • Knowledge of online learning administration and pedagogy
  • Ability to plan, organize, document, and follow through initiatives
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and work-related information
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other common software applications
  • Strong analytic, writing, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of faculty development and assessment
  • Knowledge of curricular and program development
  • Knowledge of HLC and ODHE policies and processes
  • Knowledge of LMS, Banner, and EAB Navigate
