Non-Credit Instructor – Phlebotomy

The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course during the 2023-2024 Academic Year:
  • Phlebotomy
Important: Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department.

Primary Responsibilities: The ability to teach 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) and a one (1) day externship orientation, which includes the following subject areas:
  • Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology
  • Safe collection of blood and other specimens
  • Venipuncture technique
  • Basic laboratory procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Experience teaching adult learners
  • Three (3) years of experience working as a Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Familiarity with teaching Online via Zoom and/or CANVAS
  • Experience teaching in higher education
