Non-Credit Instructor-Community Health Worker

The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course during the 2023-2024 Academic Year:

• Community Health Worker

Important: Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department.

Primary Responsibilities: The ability to teach 120 hours (3 days a week for 3 hours in hybrid format), which includes the following subject areas:

• Case Management and Cultural Competency
• Resource and Service Coordination Skills
• Legal and Ethical Considerations in Healthcare
• Specific Health Issues: Diabetes, Asthma, Cardiovascular Disease, Cancer, and Mental Health

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous teaching experience
• Experience teaching adult learners
• Three (3) years of experience working as a Community Health Worker
• Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Familiarity with teaching Online via Zoom and/or CANVAS
• Experience teaching in higher education

WDLL is current seeking a Community Health Worker instructor to teach in person, day at the Edison, New Brunswick or Perth Amboy campuses. Please note that this is a pooled position for instructors. Completed applications will enable hiring officials to contact you when a hiring need arises.
