POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide Executive Vice-President and President’s Office staff support services.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Executive VP with calendaring, travel arrangements, correspondence, and special projects as necessary.
Respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, students, and others concerning office activities and operations.
Receive incoming calls in a prompt, efficient, accurate, and courteous manner; take accurate messages as necessary.
Welcome, screen, and assist visitors as needed.
Receive, open, classify, and sort both electronic and paper correspondence.
Maintain and organize supplies inventory, including monitoring and reordering as required.
Assist with organizing and planning special events and activities.
Process paperwork for departmental P-card purchases and cash reimbursements.
Assist at Commencement, orientations, and move-in events (semi-annually).
Comply with departmental and university safety rules and regulations.
Serve on University committees as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Plan and arrange own work to accomplish assigned objectives using a wide range of procedures. Departmental policies are interpreted.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
No supervisory responsibility, but may train and direct work of college work-study students.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS:
H.S. Diploma/GED required.
Some college or 4 year degree preferred.
Experience working in a higher education setting strongly preferred.
Minimum of one-year prior office experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge and proven proficiency with office practices and procedures required. Budget management experience preferred.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, particularly students and faculty members.
Computer literacy (MS Office/internet) is required.
Knowledge and practiceof telephone etiquette are required.
Physical requirements are within the normal bounds of an office environment. Hours of work:
Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. (Occasional evening and weekend work required.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
