Description

DePauw University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to begin in August 2024 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Application materials should provide evidence of a commitment to successfully fostering and engaging with a diversity of ideas and experiences to create an inclusive environment in the classroom and at the University. Our department prioritizes student learning through teaching, mentoring and research experiences; we are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise and research bridge chemistry and biochemistry. The successful candidate will be qualified to teach stoichiometry, two courses in our introductory core, and at least one advanced course in an area of specialty. The teaching responsibilities include the equivalent of three courses per semester (typically in the form of two courses with accompanying laboratories), in addition to a half-credit course taught every third year during DePauw’s January or May term. Funding is available for professional development and research with undergraduate students. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry (by the time of appointment) is preferred; ABD applicants will be considered at the rank of Instructor.
