Associate Director, Career Partners (HYBRID)



***This position is eligible for up to two days remote work per week.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Salve Regina University aspires to provide students a deeply aligned academic advising and career development experience as part of the signature Salve Compass Program delivered across the four years of the undergraduate experience. The Associate Director, Career Partners, will be an integral leader in shaping an equitable experience for all Seahawks to access experiential learning opportunities to test career paths during their time as students, as well as opportunities following graduation. As part of the Director's leadership team, the Associate Director, Career Partners, will work to ensure career partners (including, but not limited to alumni, employers, and parents/family members) are accessible to all students as they build communities of support and seek opportunities for career information and employment opportunities. This work will be in close collaboration with other members of the Center, as well as a host of University partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Supervision:
  • Contribute as a member of the Center's leadership team
  • Supervise, hire, onboard, train, provide ongoing feedback and set vision for the Operations Coordinator and student employees
  • Maintain strategic partnerships, including, but not limited to, the following teams and groups: The Office of Alumni, Parent, and Family Programs; Institutional Research and Effectiveness; Marketing and Communications; Employer Partners; and Vendor Partners
  • Represent the University on committees and through professional associations, maintaining a pulse through professional development on talent acquisition and employer relations best practices
External Relations:
  • Communicate regularly with external recruiting partners and alumni audiences to share stories of success and invite participation in connecting with each other, as well as current students
  • Build and maintain relationships with recruiters across industries/geographies
  • Maintain oversight for on campus job portals, creating clear and accessible policies and conducting employer approvals
  • Lead efforts for the Center related to mentoring and recruiting activities
  • Devise outcomes for external career partners and share assessment metrics with student, staff, and faculty audiences as appropriate
  • Serve as a key member on the advisory group for Junior Year Compass Studios
Cross-Campus Collaboration:
  • Bring together colleagues from across campus who are engaged with external recruiting partners on a regular basis, creating ongoing communication channels and shared access to data on partnerships/initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues and student leaders creating meaningful moments of engagement for students with external career partners, assessing needs/gaps as well as defining clear outcomes for external audiences
  • Identify opportunities to bring external career partners into engagements with colleagues to further understanding of industry and talent acquisition trends and invite new prototypes for engagement
  • Serve as point person for programming, branding, and other recruiting and other engagement opportunities for employer partners for the Center: invitation and logistic communications, colleague connectivity and awareness, and assessment data for storytelling
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in trainings and other special programming, as well as other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Required:
  • Bachelor degree and 4 years employer/partner relations experience in higher education/early talent acquisition required
  • Demonstrated expertise with early talent acquisition strategies and employer relations, with over 2 years experience required
  • Appreciation for strong alignment between career development and academic advising, as well as experiential education and student agency required
  • Demonstrated proficiency to NACE's ethical standards and career readiness principles required
  • Commitment to equitable access to resources and communities of support for all students required
Preferred:
  • Earned Master's degree in Higher Education, Human Resources, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of student development, career coaching techniques, and career development theory preferred
  • Understanding of and attentiveness to Salve Regina's Mercy, Catholic tradition and mission preferred
