The College of Lake County is looking for Adjunct Faculty in Sociology. This position will be involved in the instruction of first and second year college level courses in Sociology to a diverse student body during daytime, evening, or Saturday classes at our main campus, extension sites and online learning platforms. The Adjunct Faculty member will develop, prepare, and revise instructional materials in sociology for courses they teach.

Required Qualification

Master’s degree in Sociology or Master’s degree in a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology.

Skill Requirements:
Proven ability to work effectively with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds and professional responsibilities. Ability to plan and prioritize work requirements and demonstrate independent decision-making capabilities. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Blackboard, and other technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of students, staff and external customers. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy. Solid analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
