Job Summary/Basic Functions

Students will assist with creating the data management system for the next generation neutron lifetime experiment. This will entail ordering parts and assembling computer workstations and analysis servers as well as processing and storing large amounts of data. Work can also include running simulations for the experiment. Some experience with computers is required, but physics knowledge can be learned on the job.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Must be enrolled at EKU
• Candidates must have completed or be in the process of completing university-level classes in computer science or physics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Linux systems and the desire to learn more about data storage, hardware, programming, and analysis

Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
