Position Summary

Governors State University seeks to fill the position of Graduate Admissions Counselor and invites qualified canidates to apply for consideration. The primary role of the Admissions Counselor is to help increase the number of qualified applicants to the University and to enroll the most talented and diverse student body. The Admissions Counselor will execute targeted interpersonal, virtual and in-person engagement with prospective students, as defined by enrollment goals that are in alignment with the University’s Strategic Enrollment Plan. The Admissions Counselor will be responsible for counseling prospective freshman, transfer and graduate-level students, participating in both on-campus and virtual events, in-person and virtual pre-admissions appointments, and through the University’s web-based chat software.

Set amongst 750 acres of prairie, GSU is located 40 miles south of Chicago and its proud to offer the lowest tuition of any four-year, public university in Illinois. Salary Range
$40,000 – $42,000 / year
(This is a negotiated position).

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
· Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s degree
· Two years of college admissions experience
· Professional experience using Ellucian Colleague and Slate CRM
· Bilingual (Spanish Preferred)
