Coordinator, Communication/Media/Games Internships

$24/hour - $26/hour

Job Summary:

The person in this position will be responsible for the external coordination and placement of undergraduate internships in Communication, Film/TV/Games/Interactive Media, and Games and Emerging Media

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Extensive professional experience and contacts in the communication and media industry
  • Exemplary interpersonal and organizational skills and a demonstrated interest in assisting students.
Essential Functions:
  • Research employers/sponsors to secure internship placements
  • Meet with students to assist them in their internship searches
  • Support and manage electronic databases, Handshake, and other digital tools to guide students in intern searches
  • Liaise with SCA Director of Academic Advising, Career Services, and the academic internship coordinators/faculty in Communication, Film/TV/Games/Interactive Media, and Games and Interactive Media
  • Plan and implement student information sessions & orientation programs for perspective interns
  • Conduct occasional on-site visits to internship employer/sponsors in the Hudson Valley and New York City
  • Maintain weekly contact with student interns
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Career counseling experience or previous experience working in higher education setting is preferred
