Clinical Neuropsychology Course Director

Job Description:

The Health Services Psychology Department at KCU is accepting applications for an Adjunct Professor for Clinical Neuropsychology. The successful candidate will teach a doctoral-level course, mentor students, and serve in a limited capacity within our PsyD program. $5,000 Activity Pay offered per course.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach graduate level course in Clinical Neuropsychology as an adjunct instructor/professor
  • Providing service to the department and university through teaching
  • Course delivery expectations include:
    • 10 weeks of in-person lectures addressing essential skills and knowledge related to biological bases of psychology and clinical neuropsychology (syllabus has been developed)
    • Assessment of students’ skills and knowledge related to clinical neuropsychology including use of neuropsychological assessment and report writing
    • Consider utilization of Simulated Patient
Supportive Functions:
  • Participate in developing course goals and learning objectives as they relate to APA’s profession-wide competencies and discipline specific knowledge
  • Provide office hours (in-person or virtual) to enrolled students
Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling (PsyD or PhD) from an APA accredited program
  • Expertise, training, and background in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Knowledge, sensitivity, and passion for diversity, multiculturalism, social justice, and community service
  • Demonstrated success with teaching and classroom management skills. Experience mentoring students
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to employ critical thinking and analysis to solve complex problems
  • Ability to interact successfully with academic, clinical, business, and regulatory personnel
  • Ability to successfully work within and support a diverse environment of students and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member to ensure that departmental goals are met by providing support to staff, and always keeping students’ and graduates’ best interest as a priority
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
