Job Summary
The Noncredit Instructor role in Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Manufacturing encompasses a crucial position within our workforce development training programs. As a skilled instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach and guide students in the dynamic fields of pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing. Our comprehensive curriculum provides a comprehensive introduction to industry concepts, preparing students for entry-level roles in biomanufacturing. With flexible program schedules, we welcome instructors with varying availability to accommodate our diverse student body. As a noncredit instructor, you will bring our pre-developed curriculum to life in the classroom, navigating hybrid learning systems while promoting student engagement. Your responsibilities will also include assigning and grading assignments in Blackboard, ensuring clear and effective communication with program staff, and maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Instruction & Program Support
Facilitates comprehensive learning experiences on a wide range of workshop topics, including:
- Providing a comprehensive overview of the dynamic biotechnology industry
- Emphasizing the importance of safety protocols in laboratory environments
- Enhancing understanding of precise measurement techniques in the laboratory
- Promoting adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP)
- Ensuring thorough knowledge of contamination controls and aseptic processes
- Guiding participants in mastering cleanroom gowning protocols
- Excelling in operations and manufacturing processes
- Developing proficiency in materials handling and process control
- Expanding knowledge of upstream and downstream processes
- Ensuring awareness and compliance with FDA regulations and clinical trial requirements
Collaborates closely with team members to ensure the success and sustainability of the program. Maintains ongoing communication with lab instructors to monitor workshop progress and address individual student needs, fostering a seamless experience for students transitioning between lecture-based and lab-based class days. Supports the maintenance of instructional materials and facilities as needed. Actively participates in updating course descriptions, course outlines, and syllabi to ensure the course content remains current and relevant .
Customer Service and Classroom Support
- Utilizes effective assessment techniques to evaluate student progress in achieving course goals and objectives, ensuring accurate measurement of their performance.
- Communicates course progress promptly and effectively to students, providing timely feedback on their achievements. Determines and submits students' grades in strict adherence to established college policies and procedures, ensuring fairness and consistency.
- Maintains meticulous and comprehensive records in accordance with departmental policies, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Actively assists in identifying students who may require academic or other forms of support and promptly responds by connecting them with appropriate resources and services.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to punctuality and attendance, adhering to the assigned schedule and consistently meeting workload demands. Exhibits a professional work ethic and willingly takes on additional responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the overall success of the team and institution.
- Performs additional related duties as required, showcasing flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to contribute to the smooth functioning of the educational environment.
- Creates a welcoming, inclusive, equitable, and productive work and learning environment, where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel valued and able to contribute to their full potential, regardless of their differences.
- Ensures accessible and inclusive curriculum design and teaching strategies, and specifically promotes, advises, and supports curriculum development aimed at creating a diverse and equitable learning environment.
- Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
- Three (3) years of experience working in GMP manufacturing facility.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
