The BiGS Fellowship is a fully funded program designed to bring leading scholarly researchers to campus to work on specific projects related to issues of business and society. For the 2024 – 25 cohort of Fellows, we are looking to select two small groups of scholars: one whose work focuses on the role of business in addressing climate change and environmental sustainability and another whose work examines racial inequities in the business sector, and emerging best practices for combatting or addressing them. For both cohorts, we are particularly interested in scholars from diverse backgrounds and geographies.

BiGS Fellows will have their own research agendas but will also be expected to contribute to HBS and the broader Harvard community. In most cases, this contribution will take the form of working closely with at least one HBS faculty member to develop a new scholarly working paper, managerial article, or educational material (such as a case or technical note) or by co-teaching one or more sessions in an existing course. Each Fellow will have a dedicated HBS faculty host who will help integrate them into the community and ensure they make a lasting impact. They will have office space and administrative support during their time on campus.

BiGS Fellows can hold appointments at any academic rank (Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor etc.) and are expected to join us on the HBS campus for one full academic year. During this time, HBS will reimburse the Fellow’s home institution for the cost of their salary and benefits.
