Conference and Marketing Assistant
VMI’s Center for Leadership and Ethics seeks a full-time, entry-level employee to assist in the planning and execution of academic year conferences and marketing activities. Responsibilities include detailed record keeping; communicating with and scheduling of conference presenters and speakers; topic research, exhibitor and sponsor outreach; assist with video editing, social media marketing and basic graphic layout and design; and providing general administrative and conference support.
Core responsibilities
• Detailed record keeping.
• Manage conference calls for presentation process.
• Communication with conference presenters.
• Schedule conference presentations.
• Research related to presentation topics.
• Configure online conference registration platform using content management system.
• Update conference websites.
• Assist with video editing.
• Assist with social media marketing.
• Assist with podcast production and editing.
Conferences:
• Detailed record keeping.
• Communication with conference presenters.
• Schedule sessions.
• Conference research.
• Outstanding customer service.
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• High comfort level with technology and software platforms.
• AV set-up and support as needed.
Marketing:
• Familiarity with video editing and software.
• Familiarity with social media marketing and campaign coordination.
• Basic graphic design and branding experience.
• Provide ongoing support to Marketing Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented, yet flexible, positive, and a problem solver in the face of change.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Research skills.
Additional Considerations:
• Able to work in Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Canva Pro.
• Familiar with marketing campaigns, and brand management.
• Familiar with email campaigns and software.
Special requirements:
Some 12 hour days may be required during conferences (3 – 4 times a year).
