Tenure-Line Assistant Professor of Marketing
The George Mason University’s School of Business located in Fairfax, VA invites applications for a Tenure-Line Assistant Professor of Marketing starting Fall 2024. Both new PhD and more senior candidates (with three plus years of Assistant Professor experience) will be considered . This is full-time position with benefits. Salary and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the candidate.

Responsibilities will include research publications in top-tier academic journals and teaching courses in undergraduate and/or graduate programs. The teaching load for this position is determined according to the School’s workload policy, which specifies an initial load of 9 credits (this typically translates to 3 courses/year) for candidates with fresh PhDs. Additional responsibilities include service to the Marketing Area, the School of Business, the University, the profession, and interfacing with the business community.

- Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited school in Marketing or closely related field prior to the start date. (For doctoral students, there must be clear evidence of the ability to complete degree by the Fall semester start date in 2024); Potential to publish in in top-tier marketing academic journals; Potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. For candidates with teaching experience, evidence of teaching effectiveness is required; and Good citizenship and the ability to work well with colleagues are essential.
- Applicants with research interests related to issues in quantitative marketing, marketing strategy, and/or analytical modeling; Applicants with demonstrable competence in data analysis using machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing; and Prior teaching experience with or interest in teaching and developing courses in Marketing Analytics and related analytics coursework.
