Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the following position: Applications/Systems Administrator in the Office of Information Technology Services. The Applications/Systems Administrator is responsible for the design and management, performing hardware troubleshooting and new installations, and administering enhancements or integrations with the CBORD/CS-Gold system. Serves as an applications/systems administrator, including technical support, for other assigned systems on campus. This is an on-site position.

 

 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Serves as the primary systems administrator for the CS Gold enterprise systems. Performs system configuration and design, installation, maintenance, and daily systems management/operations, etc. for CS Gold enterprise systems and related application modules in collaboration with vendor support. Writes reports and/or SQL statements to modify the software. Review and enhance reports. Perform and monitor system security. Serves as an applications analyst for other assigned systems. Performs system configuration, analysis and design, installation, maintenance, and daily systems management/operations, etc. for systems and related application modules in collaboration with vendor support. Provides technical and troubleshooting support for the assigned systems. Administer and maintain (upgrade/patch) application/system tiers, including web tiers, application tiers, and database tiers. Build and maintain production and pre-production environments in support of development and release management methodologies. Provide technical support in the identification, analysis, and resolution of hardware and software problems for registers in collaboration with vendor support. Provide troubleshooting and diagnostics support for Oracle Micros-Simphony point of sale system. Provide technical support in the identification, analysis, and resolution of hardware and software problems for access control systems in collaboration with vendor support and the CINO card office. Programming system environment to provide efficient and automatic processes that enhance and expand the Oracle database and user reports.

 

 

Required Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED), work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software is required. An associate degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of related experience in Higher Education Systems such as Ellucian Colleague and CS Gold. Experience in the administration, installation, and configuration of enterprise applications/systems, database management software such as Oracle/SQL Server, SQL Scripting, HTML, and CSS are preferred. Experience in the administration, installation, and configuration of web and application servers, preferably in any of the following products: Apache/Tomcat, Oracle (HTTP Server/Web Logic Server), or Microsoft IIS is also preferred.

Systems Programmer/Developer II (AM09/61123030/ FTE-S00893P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 06. Salary range: $45,530.00 (minimum) to $64,885.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 pm. To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed at night or occasionally on weekends. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Information confidentiality is highly critical.
