Director of Admissions



Responsibilities

Under general supervision, provides leadership in advancing optimal strategic recruitment and admissions initiatives to meet the University’s enrollment goals. Manages a comprehensive, data-driven recruitment and admissions program to attract, admit and retain qualified students. The Director of Admissions reports to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Plans, develops and leads an aggressive recruitment plan based upon a strategic enrollment management plan encompassing all areas of student recruitment including traditional, non-traditional, graduate and international students as well as other targeted populations.

Establishes a system of market and applicant research to identify prospective students.

Facilitates, monitors, implements and evaluates University polices relative to Admissions, including but not limited to recruitment and marketing as well as assessment of enrollment patterns and projections, to include traditional, online, nontraditional, and graduate populations.

Provides input to assist the University in developing policies and procedures to enhance recruitment, admission, scholastics performance and retention of students.

Collaborates with constituents at all levels of the University to resolve issues and concerns relating to the admissions process including placement testing.

Qualifications

Master’s degrees in student personnel services or a related field and five to eight years of experience in admissions or enrollment management are required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent leadership skills as well as expertise in enrollment management issues, strong analytical and communication skills, sound professional judgment, initiative and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals including students, faculty and staff are also required. Experience with MS Office applications and student data base systems, specifically (i.e. Jenzabar. Banner) and customer relationship management tools (i.e. JRM) is required. Must be organized and an effective time manager with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable. The equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
