This is a grant-funded position.
The College of Business of Business and Professional Studies at Johnson C. Smith University invites applications for the Barings Professor of Finance. This is a tenure-track position at the level of Senior Associate or Full Professor of Finance. This position is in-person on campus in Charlotte, North Carolina with a starting date of August 10, 2024. He or she will serve as an ambassador for the Finance program both on and off-campus while working to grow the visibility and enrollment in the finance and other programs in the College of Business and Professional Studies. Other responsibilities include student mentorship, curriculum development, grant writing, campus and community service, research, and publishing. Faculty members may perform other duties as required in support of organizational goals. The University’s contracts for tenure-track faculty are normally for nine months, renewable annually during the probationary period.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Finance or related field from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution. We welcome candidates with evidence of research potential, significant professional experience, and effectiveness in teaching. The Barings Associate/Full Professor of Finance will possess expertise in two or more of the following areas: asset management, corporate finance, financial institutions, international finance, investments, or risk management
