Responsibilities
The Counseling Center Administrative Assistant supports the Director of Counseling and other Counselors in their work with students, which includes the scheduling, coordination, publicizing, and preparation of materials for all counseling program events. The Administrative Assistant also maintains and serves as the primary point of contact for visitors to the Counseling Center. Performs a variety of secretarial and administrative tasks in support of the Counseling Center and other departmental functions and provide coordination and support of the general day-to-day administrative, clerical and operational tasks related to the successful management of the Counseling Center. The Administrative Assistant greets and assist all visitors to the Counseling Center. Accept, screen, and route phone calls coming into the Center. Reports to the Director of Counseling.
Qualifications
Requires an Associate's Degree in secretarial science, business, human services, or other relevant field supplemented by one to two years of secretarial and/or administrative experience. Specialized training in office management and computer skills. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Print Shop Publisher, and Internet computer applications; excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge and/or experience with the variables that impact the success of college students who are from low-income and first-generation backgrounds or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
