Position Summary:
We are looking for individuals with diverse talents and backgrounds to join our nationally recognized team that is committed to providing exciting and healthy food options to students, faculty and staff on campus. Under the direction of the Manager, this working supervisor is responsible for supervision of daily operation of Dining Services food service establishment. Responsibilities include maintaining or improving standards of quality, service, sanitation, supervising staff, practicing good public relations, supporting departmental objectives, maintaining security control, supervising the food production/preparation in both front and back of the house, planning, stocking and packaging of food items. Assists in supervising up to 20 union, part-time and student employees. Maintains high standards of quality, sanitation, and overall efficiency of the operation. Utilizes and guides customers in Amazon Just Walk Out processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
*Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
*Must have demonstrated successful supervisory and administrative experience.
*Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation procedures and sanitation.
*Must have a working knowledge of the internet and Microsoft Office.
*Must possess the ability to work independently.
*Must be able to supervise and direct others.
*Must be able to write and communicate effectively in English.
*Must have strong interpersonal skills.
*Must be self motivated and have a sense of urgency to meet the changing demands of a high volume operation.
*Must have the ability to lift forty (40) pounds.
*Must be able to to stand for periods of time up to five hours.
*Managerial ServSafe certified (or must become Managerial ServSafe certified within one year of employment).
*Must be able to work at a constant fast pace.
*Must have math skills to determine portion sizes and production needs.
*Must be able to visually differentiate colors for the purposes of food safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
*Associate degree in Culinary, Business or Restaurant and Hospitality Management.
*Proven work knowledge of Cbord.
*One or more years experience as a Supervisor in a high volume fast paced food service operation.
*Supervisory experience in a union workplace.
*Working knowledge of cash register operations.
*Supervisory experience with Micros.
*Enjoys working with students and a diverse, multi cultural staff.
*Leadership skills including integrity, attention to detail, organized, effective time management, and ability to act as a team player.
* Valid driver's license with a low risk driving record and insurable by the University.
