Adjunct Faculty, Digital Media and Design (3D Modeling and
CommArts/Hum/Fine Arts Div
The College of Lake County is seeking Adjunct Faculty in Digital
Media & Design ( DMD ).
The successful candidate will teach a Virtual Live section (Canvas)
of DMD 251: Advanced 3D Modeling for the Fall 2023 semester as part
of the associate in applied science degrees and certificates in the
Digital Media and Design Department.
DMD 251: Advanced 3D Modeling is designed as an advanced modeling
course for students who are experienced with basic 3D modeling
concepts and technical practice. The course introduces more
sophisticated concepts and techniques such as polygon modeling,
texture mapping, lighting, and rendering. Through hands-on
practice, students will focus on modeling concepts and development
relating to character, environmental, materials and lighting
1. Bachelor’s degree in digital media, animation, computer art,
media arts, film/video production, or a related discipline, and
three (3) years of “tested experience.”
2. As this course emphasizes 3D modeling for digital media, at
least six (6) semester hours should be in that respect.
3. Three (3) years of recent experience working in the animation
industry, no more than five (5) years ago.
4. College-level teaching experience and/or 2-3 years industry
5. Competency in technologies commonly used in college level
6. Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of
diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and
abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the
diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of
community college students, faculty, and staff, including those
with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working
relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

- The instructor is also responsible for following all College,
Division, and Department policies and procedures.
- Teach courses in subject field. Develop instructional
materials. Assess student learning and assign grades. Attend
required Adjunct meetings in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Participate in college governance and other aspects of academic
life. Maintain current knowledge of subject matter.
- Adjunct Faculty members are expected to maintain current in
compliance training, including compliance under Title IX
“Responsible Employee” and, if applicable, Clery Act Campus
- Select, prepare and maintain current curriculum, course
outlines and printed and non-printed instructional materials.
- Teach courses as scheduled each academic semester.
- Provide instructional support to the students. Refer students,
when appropriate, to sources of specialized services within the

course objectives and learning outcomes, attendance policies in
line with those of the college, texts and readings, timelines and
evaluation criteria, and any other information required by College,
Division, or departmental policy.
- Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course

discussions or examinations. Provide feedback in a timely manner on

by the College.
- Be available for student consultation through phone or

current course syllabus and approved textbooks (and/or related
instructional material). Meet with all classes for the scheduled
