Job Description

This position is part of a small IT development and operations team that creates and maintains all mapping and information management services for two federally-funded forest pest management programs – the Spongy Moth Slow the Spread project and the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Predator Database project. The successful candidate will help design, develop, implement and maintain our systems, software, and custom applications, with a focus on GIS applications. This position also works with team members to automate system administration tasks, and to create and maintain web-tier services and front-end applications. Development is done in both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments using ESRI's ArcGIS software suite and Oracle relational databases and requires proficiency in JavaScript and C#.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or commensurate experience) in GIS, computer science or related area and substantial relevant experience; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Development experience in JavaScript, Python, or C#.NET; Familiarity with code version control systems (Git or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with: ESRI's ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123; location-based mobile application development; Knowledge of AWS management.
