Salary and Contract: $48,450 annually plus FULL institutional benefit program.  Position is an exempt, 11-month position to be paid over a 12-month period


Reports To:  Associate Director of Athletics and Chief Operating Officer


Summary of Responsibilities:  The individual is responsible for all aspects of promoting the Department of Athletics’ 16 varsity teams and its student-athletes. The Sports Information and Operations Coordinator will serve as the primary sports information and game operations contact for a minimum of four varsity sports. Additional duties within the department as assigned.


Specific Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary Sports Information and game operations contact for four varsity sports.

• Duties include but are not limited to: updating rosters, creating game day programs, conducting pre and post-game interviews, writing and distributing press releases internally and to local media members, updating rosters and statistics, actively managing event-day Sports Information staff, producing live web streaming and performing play-by-play broadcasts as needed, maintaining and operating StatCrew, Presto and DakStats statistical software, setting up live statistics for every home contest, managing coach and athlete bio information, nominating coaches and student-athletes for preseason, weekly and postseason awards, serve as liaison to conference office

• Write feature stories to be used on and in the Menlo Advantage Magazine

• Process all local media interview requests for assigned sports and inform media of all major happenings, upcoming events and points of interest

• Update record books and student-athlete and coaches’ bios in a timely manner for assigned sports

• Maintain statistical archives for assigned sports

• Game Operations functions to include scheduling and managing student employees, staffing, hiring and onboarding new student employees and managing a budget, liaison for visiting team, coaches and officials, serve as on-site supervisor for home contests

• Produce regular, engaging content to promote assigned sports and the Athletics department on social media

• Assist in coordinating all special events: OAKtoberFest, Athletics Hall of Fame, Vegas Night, End of Year Banquet, etc. 

• All other duties as assigned by Athletic Department Administration


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (preferably in sports marketing, media relations, marketing, sports management, or journalism)

• Strong written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

• A basic knowledge of current NAIA rules and regulations

• Proficiency in industry-standard statistical platforms

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator

• Knowledge of marketing, promotions and social media best practices

• Professional and enthusiastic attitude

• Passion for intercollegiate athletics

• Creative and innovative thinker

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays 


Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience working in an intercollegiate athletic department
