Essential Functions

Overall management of day-to-day operations of groundkeeper crew.
Overall charge for maintaining standards for exceptional ground maintenance service levels. Applies safety regulations and procedures.
Mow the lawns, prune the bushes and trees, edge the walkways and give the grounds a manicured look.
Take on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary by the property manager.
Collaborate with maintenance team to make sure the grounds and the building are always properly cared for.
Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tools.
Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
Prepares the grounds for severe weather (hurricanes/windstorms/tornados). Hurricane and severe weather disaster recovery.
Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
Requires handling of average-weight objects. Excessive standing, walking, sittings. Moves appliances, with assistance, using various appliance/equipment.
Performs miscellaneous and other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work.
Ability to manage, prioritize and bring to completion multiple projects.
Display behavior consistent with professional ethics and FMU faculty and staff
handbook.  Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 35ft). Ability to working different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain).
Significant walking or other means of mobility. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Reach, bend, stoop, push and/ or pull-up to fifty (50)pounds.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED.

5 years equivalent work experience.
Must have experience using hand held tools such as weed cutter, push lawn mower, hedge trimmer, edger, leaf vacuum, blower and others. Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time.
Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions.
Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working nights and weekends.
Customer Service skills. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
