Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Manager of Environmental Health and Safety will provide EHS leadership in support of the University's mission of providing high-quality instruction, scholarship, and service. It is the responsibility of the EHS Manager to ensure that all employees are following safety protocols and procedures. This includes conducting safety audits, investigating accidents, and developing safety programs and trainings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of state and federal EPA, OSHA compliance regulations and laws. Must be able to develop management plans that meet all regulatory requirements, monitor compliance and regulations, and make sure that all employees are properly trained on most current iterations. The EHS manager must be able to effectively communicate and work with all stakeholders with the mission of achieving regulatory compliance. Be able to lift 50lbs or greater and work in an environment that includes outdoor exposure to dirt, dust, and potentially hazardous chemicals. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Certification or graduation for a four-year university.

Experience: - At least five years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety.

Licensure & Certifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Environmental Health and/or Occupational Health and Safety background preferred.

Job Duties:

• 40% - Develop Programs and Policies to facilitate compliance with all applicable laws and recommended standards. - ()
• 40% - Oversee Day to Day EHS Departmental Operations Regarding Compliance with Environmental, Health & Occupational Health Safety Regulations and Standards. - ()
• 10% - Hazardous Waste Management - ()
• 5% - Maintain Federal/State/Local Reports - ()
• 5% - Other Duties as Assigned - ()
