Job Description

Assist with the management, oversight, and implementation of ongoing and future research studies including cross-sectional surveys and longitudinal interventions that use digital approaches to improve health.

 

Salary Range

$21.11 per hour

Essential Duties

  • Participate in weekly research staff meetings
  • Assist with submitting documents to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and study registration with ClinicalTrials.gov
  • Participant recruitment
  • Enroll participants and conduct baseline intakes 
  • Data management
  • Implement the intervention, including scheduling surveys, reminders, and sending out participant incentives or remuneration 
  • Process and enter quantitative and qualitative data
  • Train and supervise undergraduate and graduate students assisting with projects
  • Participate in manuscript writing and submission to academic journals
  • Carry out data and safety monitoring processes throughout the study

Days and Schedule:  Part-time 30 hours per week

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mobile and internet technologies
  • Experience in marketing/recruitment of participants for research studies or programs
  • Experience using data analytic software (i.e., SPSS, STATA)
  • Experience using survey generating software (i.e., Qualtrics, REDCap, Survey Monkey) 
  • Experience in publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts
  • Experience in grant writing assistance
  • Evidence of a Master of Science (MA) of Master of Arts (MA) in field closely related to health promotion, public health, or data analytics (i.e., Clinical Psychology, Health Promotion/Education, Kinesiology, Exercise and Wellness, Health Economics, etc.)
  • Two years of related experience working on research projects (i.e., Research Assistant, Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Research Technician, Project Coordinator, Research Coordinator, etc.)

 

Working Environment

  • Use basic math

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties
  • Use office equipment, i.e. printers, copiers, fax machines, telephones, and calculator
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, may include/subject to resolution conflicts
  • Use of software/computer equipment for extended periods
  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data/results of tests conducted

The College of Health Solutions (CHS) is dedicated to translating scientific advances into practical interventions to improve health outcomes through education, research and service. We equip students with the knowledge and skills to influence healthier lifestyle choices; develop creative interventions to improve the health of people and populations; analyze and translate large amounts of health data into solutions; and maximize the technology, science, business and application of diagnostics. The current training programs include behavioral health, biomedical diagnostics, biomedical informatics, exercise science, health promotion, health sciences, kinesiology, medical studies, nutrition, population health, science of health care delivery, and speech and hearing science. Our programs are offered at ASU’s Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, Polytechnic, West and Lake Havasu campuses, as well as on Mayo Clinic’s campus in north Phoenix.
