- May be required to work other shifts to include evenings and weekends.
- Schedule subject to change based on the department needs.
Job Summary:
The Learning Specialist supports the learning center staff, tutors, and students with student success initiatives geared towards retention and completion. The specialist collaborates with internal customers such as faculty, staff, and counselors, and/or relevant personnel to aide with student success services, student progress, and provide individualized assistance.
Essential Functions:
- Support and monitor student progress through student success initiatives geared toward student retention & completion.
- Review and maintain student success materials, including worksheets and supplemental materials.
- Communicate with faculty, staff, and counselors, and/or relevant personnel and departments to improve learning support services, determine student progress, resolve issues, and provide assistance.
- Recruit, hire, train, manage, and schedule front desk workers.
- Greet customers.
- Provide information related to the learning center.
- Maintain inventory to ensure that resources and other materials are available.
- Oversee that the learning center is clean.
- Support learning center coordinators and supervisor.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Associate’s degree plus one (1) year experience
- High School Diploma/ GED plus three and a half (3.5) years experience.
