This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Position Purpose

Serves as operational support to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources in the following areas:

  1. Recommend and administer procedures and policies relating to the University’s employment programs, emphasizing benefits and compensation areas. Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and University policy.
  2. Leading and managing activities to support the Office of Human Resources staff.
  3. Prepare daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic reports for compliance and analysis.
  4. Aid in the investigation of employee relations matters.
  5. Assist with the development and implementation of employment-related training.

Education/Experience :

Education & Formal Training: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Human Resources Development, Business or Public Administration, or a related field.

Master’s degree, MBA, MPA, or a related advanced degree preferred.


1. Five years of progressive professional-level experience with demonstrated knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws; two years must be in managing and administering total rewards (benefits and compensation).
2. Two (2) of supervisory experience.

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
