Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Part-Time Academic Advisor position.  The Part-Time Academic Advisor is responsible for providing one-on-one as well as group academic, career and college transfer advising to students resulting in a heightened level of student engagement, comprehensive decision-making and utilization of a vast array of services to support student success.

 

 **This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police and FBI Fingerprinting clearances. 

**This position is College-wide and includes day, evening and weekend hours (particularly during peak periods) providing both on-site and virtual advising services as determined by the College. On-site locations include Blue Bell campus, Pottstown campus, and sometimes high school partner locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of student development theory, including career and transfer decision making.
  • Experienced in developmental or college level advising.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of technologies.
  • Evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.
