Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Part-Time Flight Coordinator position.  Under the direction of the Director of Educational Engagement and Innovation, the Part-Time Flight Coordinator will function as a facilitator of simulated space missions and other STEM programming for students, community, public, and camp groups for the Challenger Learning Center at Montco Pottstown (the “Center”) and handles all aspects of the Center’s group sales, scheduling, and admissions process for daily operations.

 

*This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to their start date.

 

*Must be available to work at least three days per week (Monday-Friday), 8:30 to 2:30 and occasional evenings. Must also be available to work occasional weekends. Summer hours vary.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Education/Training/Work Experience

  • Minimum 60 hours college credit earned; Bachelor’s degree may be preferred
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Teaching experience in formal or informal education preferred

 SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Strong interest and/or background in facilitating STEM/space science concepts
  • Customer service experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel; CRM experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders including children (pre K-grade 12) and adults
  • Ability to problem-solve and improvise in real time
  • Flexible schedule: Available to work at least three days per week (Monday-Friday), 8:30 to 2:30 and occasional evenings. Must also be available to work occasional weekends. Summer hours vary.
