Job Description Summary
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under general supervision, this position performs a wide variety of
maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe
environment; and perform related work as required in and around the
University facilities. Troubleshoots, performs minor repairs and
responds to emergency calls for service; implements setup and
takedown for a wide variety of University events; works closely
with employees and the public to meet the maintenance needs of the
University; and resolves problems to ensure efficient and safe
RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance Work
- Performs a wide variety of general and semi-skilled
maintenance activities (e.g. carpentry, painting, electrical) for
completing projects within established time frames.
- Removes trash in accordance with established

- Handles and disposes of hazardous materials and blood borne
pathogens with care.
- Receives, processes and resolves requests for routine

- Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building
equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Maintains inventory and submits written requests for
supplies; tests and evaluates new supplies and equipment.

related work experience in one or more of the building

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is non-exempt (hourly). The
normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.,
however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be

TARGET HIRING SALARY: $15.34 - $17.50/hr., commensurate with
