Summary:
The Management and Business Department at Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time appointment in International Business Environments/Strategy at the Assistant Professor (PhD/DBA) rank beginning September 2024. Primary job responsibilities include excellence in teaching, capability for high-quality research, and participation in service for the Department and the College.
We seek candidates who can successfully teach courses in international environments of business and strategy at both the introductory and advanced levels. The Management & Business Department is committed to delivering high quality business education within a liberal arts framework. All teaching is at the undergraduate level, and the normal teaching load is five courses per academic year. Tenure track faculty (assistant professors) are eligible for a pre-tenure research leave (sabbatical) in their fourth year at the college.
The College seeks to attract an academically and culturally diverse faculty, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds and/or applicants who have experience teaching diverse student populations.
Pay Rate: $99,000 - $115,000
Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic discipline (faculty pay ranges reflect 9-month annual salary).
- Unique applicable skills.
Candidates should submit a cover letter explaining their ability to contribute in the areas described above, including their ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, a research paper, a curriculum vitae, three references with contact information, and a list of classes taught with a summary of evaluations of teaching for each class.
